A Noble Canyon

Noble Canyon Trailhead to spring stream crossing and back
(10 miles, +500/-500 feet).

I don’t have many pictures of my first hike with BarnFinder—we were too busy talking and getting to know each other a little better.  I was surprised to find out that we read the same PCT bloggers and I was thrilled that we had such a good time hiking together.  Maybe I won’t have to do all this hiking by myself….

The hike goes through beautiful chaparral and up through a desert riparian area with old oak trees.  The hike is unusual for San Diego County in that even during severe drought there is usually water in the canyon.  In fact, I didn’t carry much water because I planned to fill up at the stream crossing where we turned around and headed back.

And of course, we had to celebrate at the newly-opened Ballast Point brewery on the way back.

I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship
