Humboldt Redwoods

14 June 2022
Gould Grove, Rockefeller Grove, Big Trees Area, Founders Grove
(4 miles).

Today we spent a few hours in Humboldt Redwoods State Park, getting out at some of the major groves to wander around amongst the giants. This might just be the most spectacular state park in California. It was a great day!

Wow!
Redwood sorrel
A “chandelier” tree
It’s cozy in here!
And here!
Some amazing splinters
A “goose pen”
Sorrels and ferns blanket the floor of the forrest
Wow!
Yellow-spotted millipede

At the Big Trees Area they have not yet installed the seasonal bridge across Gopher Creek, so we had to climb aboard a giant log to cross over to the grove.

All aboard!
Best bridge ever!
