Day 5: Another Atmospheric River

18 March 2023
Eagle Rock (PCT Mile 106) to Warner Springs (PCT Mile 110)

Today was a short day because I did some math.

I don’t think I can make it down to Palm Springs before the next atmospheric river hits.

Fifty mile an hour winds. Two inches of rain down low and two feet of snow up high. I think I’ll pass.

So I called Half Cookie to come get me in Warner Springs. I’ll get back out here in a few days.

Trail friends!
A gorgeous oak tree
Oak gooseberry
Al alternative path to the post office follows the CRHT
Definitely beats the road walk

Nice sign!
Fringed linanthus

At the store I waited for half cookie and ate four sausages. Yum!

Protein!

When Half Cookie came to get me we checked out the PCT at Agua Caliente. It will be fun to get back out here!

From Drought to Flood
So often in life
For years nothing comes, and then
It comes all at once

I am super-interested in going on an overnight backpack in the Agua Caliente area. Interested to see your pictures of the area. Cheers!
