Wildwood Trail

30 August 2024
Springville Road Trailhead for Wildwood Trail
(8 miles, +800/-800 feet).

After Whistler, Chris and I headed down to Portland to see our good friend Aquarius, who I have not visited since we climbed Saddle Mountain together.

So of course we had to do a hike!

This time I got to explore Forest Park. This park is the setting for one of my favorite movies, Leave No Trace, about a father and daughter who live in the park until they are captured by the police and then separated.

The park made Oregon look just as beautiful as the movie did, though I later found out that the main filming location for the movie was actually a different park.

The trail was extremely cruisy and I raced to keep up with my hiking buddies who were maintaining a city-walking pace the whole time. But I did have time to snap a couple of photos.
