Thunderbird Lodge to Hermit’s Rest
(8 miles, +500/-700 feet).

No Breaks has never seen the Grand Canyon!

So he and I decided to take a road trip so he can do the rim-to-rim run.

But first, a stroll along the south rim to take in the views.

We headed west from our hotel and probably spent more time taking pictures than walking.

After a couple of miles No Breaks headed back to rest for his adventure tomorrow. But I continued on, winding around the side canyons on my way to Hermit’s Rest.

It was fun to follow the Tonto Trail below, where Ultrashuffle and I hiked earlier this year.

I made some friends along the way.

And all too soon I was done and it was time to return.
