Boucher Trail Loop

Thunder Spring Trail to Boucher Trail to Adams Trail
(6 miles, +1,200/-1,200 feet).

Today we headed out to the Anza-Borrego desert for the weekend, but first we stopped at Palomar Mountain State Park on the way to do a hike in the woods. We’ve camped near here before at Observatory Camground to watch the Perseid meteor shower, but we’ve never been here before. It was wonderful!

We especially liked the huge California Incense-Cedars all over the place.

So cool!
Let’s make some new ones!
Thanks guys!

On the route up to Boucher Hill, the high point of the loop, we started to get views of San Jacinto and Gorgonio, and we passed a monument to the CCC.

Historic watchtower on Boucher Hill
Not-so-historic Harrah’s Casino!

From the summit it was down, down, down through the woods back to the car. We’ll definitely put this one on the list!
