Ramble from Cottonwood Lakes to High Lake
(6 miles, +700/-700 feet).
UltraShuffle was so taken with High Lake on our excursion to New Army Pass that he wanted to take the whole gang there. So today we mounted a group expedition.

So High Lake was a lot colder. Like 33 degrees cold. 10% of it was still covered in ice!
But that didn’t stop Scamper.

After our swim I decided to hike around the lake. It wasn’t too bad. I took my time when the snow field got steep.

Below High Lake I decided to do some cross country down to Upper South Fork Lake (of course!). I had some company.

At Upper South Fork Lake Bee’s Knees and Rainbow T fished while we photographed.

Half Cookie and I decided to walk around the lake.
Um….
We had some issues.

We finally had rain-free and calm weather for camp. I was worried the mozzies would ruin it. But it was fine.

It was time to decide on trail names for our participants who didn’t have one yet. Spoons told a funny story about her adopted family on this trip.
They share food.
I mean a lot!
At one point there were five spoons requesting a bite of her dinner.
Hence, Spoons!

And then the last trail name suddenly became obvious.

Too much fun! The last photo was from the tent.
