The Queen’s Garden

Queens Garden Trail to Wall Street
(2.9 miles, +600/-600 feet).

Okay, let’s face it.  I tried to kill my own mother yesterday.  She did great, but today we thought we would try something a little more tranquilo.

We began the day early at Sunrise Point, which, as it turns out, is aptly named.

We then quickly started our descent on the Queens Garden Trail hoping to get a little bit ahead of the national park crowds.

We made it down to the Queens Garden by about 8am.  This part has a line of hoodoos that look like royalty, I guess.

Soon we hit the intersection for the Navajo Loop and we headed up towards the infamous “Wall Street.”

Wall Street is an incredibly deep, relatively narrow, and extremely steep canyon.  It’s kind of hard to capture in photos since it’s really about how it feels to be surrounded by the towering walls.

By 9:30am we were back at the rim, where the morning light continued to dance on the canyon below.
